Dave Hudon was born with an artistic gift and has been drawing and painting since as long as he can remember. As a child his parents sent him for classes in oil painting, in which he excelled. These classes stand as the only art lessons he has taken. The rest of his career has been through self-instruction and years of trial and error.

Most artists draw what inspires them and Dave is no exception to the rule. He prides himself with a wonderful childhood filled with memories of toys and comic books, classic TV shows and Saturday mornings filled with cartoons and "Creature Double Feature". His passion is in figural work, whether it be through caricature or serious portrait. He enjoys the challenge of capturing the likeness and personality of the subject.

Dave is proud of his talent for free-hand artistry and has perfected a style and technique all his own. For black and white compositions he utilizes pencil, pen and ink, or a combination of all. His color illustrations wow and amaze his clients, who constantly ask him how he achieves such spectacular results. It is his mixed media of a light water color wash, colored pencils and marker that create a terrific and unique effect every time.

Dave's professional training and career of twenty years is as a graphic arts designer. He is the "go to guy" for all his printing company's scanning, image retouching, color correction and design needs. His troubleshooting skills dealing with files from other designers in a printing environment has taught him what not to do. Dave designs using the latest applications of Photoshop, Quark Express, Illustrator, Freehand, Pagemaker, InDesign and Acrobat, while designing in a Macintosh environment.

His expertise and attention to detail in design is what attracts many local musicians and entertainment companies to him. He is proud to be able to save his clients hundreds of dollars at the printers with his efficient and accurate design work.

Dave has done work with the Boston based music entertainment magzines "Instant" and "Mic Stand". In this role he designed and layed out the covers, and contributed artwork for each issue and was often a featured columnist.

Dave Hudon is a versatile artist who constantly pushes his abilities to the edge. His use of multi-media coupled with his talent and passion for free hand art sets him apart from his contemporaries.
